You may have spotted across social media that Little Pickle’s Mom celebrated it’s first blogging birthday last week! Hooray! I’m not sure what I expected when I first set this little website up but I never imagined in my wildest dreams that it would be so cathartic, fulfilling and give me such incredible opportunities to work with a host of wonderful brands. As we’re nearing the end of 2016, it felt about right to have a big think about the site as a whole, reflect, analyse and make myself some goals for next year. It just so happens that blogging guru Aby from You Baby Me Mummy is running a week long course helping bloggers to do JUST that this week, so I’ve been eagerly reading her daily emails, watching her Live videos on Facebook and hatching lots of plans for next year. And as is pretty evident if you’ve visited the blog this morning… this has prompted a bit of a blog redesign! Yes, I’m trying on a new look for size, and I think I quite like it.

surprised baby blog redesign

If I was sensible (which I’m not), I’d have found a clever way of tweaking and perfecting it until it was absolutely ready before publishing but… I’m impatient so you’re witnessing a work-in-progress. Although it obviously looks very different today than it did yesterday, that doesn’t mean I’m quite finished yet and you’re likely to spot a few little changes and shifts over the coming days or even weeks. What I’m hoping this new design will do, however, is force me to take more lovely photographs and showcase those a bit more, to think a bit more carefully about the aesthetic. I’ve really enjoyed playing around with my new camera (thank you LPD!) but more practice is definitely in order so I can really begin to develop and hone some skills.

So, what do you think of the blog redesign? Do you like it? Is it easy to read? Are you already pining for the old style or embracing this new change? Feel free to comment or drop me a line on your preferred choice of social media as I’d love to hear your thoughts. In the mean time, I’ll finish setting my goals and ambitions for 2017! I’m quite excited…
