I’ve always thought men, in general, are really hard to buy for. That’s quite a sweeping statement (which I try hard in life to avoid making!), but I definitely find it more difficult figuring out what to buy for my husband, my brothers, or my Dad compared to my Mum or my girl-friends. I always leave buying their gifts to the last minute because it’s so challenging, and then it’s even more of a mad panic to catch the last delivery dates before Christmas or find things still left in stock on the shelves. If, like me, you’re find it tough, and you’re getting worried about how close Christmas Day is getting and you’ve still got no idea what to buy the men in your life – here’s a great list that might give you some ideas.

Chocolate Sprouts Gifts for Men

Chocolate Sprouts, £9.99 (available from FindMeaGift.com)

Seeing as LPD once made a sprout cake – yes, you read that right, a sprout cake – I couldn’t resist picking up these painted white chocolate sprouts for him. They appeal to his sense of humour, and I’m already anticipating that he’ll try and sneak one on someone’s plate at the dinner table during Christmas lunch! The packaging is lovely, and they do genuinely look like sprouts! Let’s hope they don’t taste like them though… At less than £10, I think this a great little alternative gift to the standard socks and some smellies.

Storm Trooper Whiskey Decanter Gifts for Men

Stormtrooper Decanter, £13.99 on sale (available from FindMeaGift.com)

In honour of the new Star Wars film released this Christmas, this Stormtrooper decanter would make the perfect gift for any Star Wars fans out there. I’ve really been enjoying the new films (well, The Force Awakens at least – I didn’t really get into Rogue One), so I’d like to think this Stormtrooper is FN-2199. This glass decanter makes quite the statement, and can be filled with whichever liquid takes your fancy – although, it still looks pretty cool empty! LPD is quite the fan of his whisky though, and whilst the Star Wars fan in me would quite like to find some kind of white cream liqueur, I know whisky is a much safer bet. Has anyone got any recommendations?

Navy Shirt with handmade Bowtie from Dobells

Dobell’s Navy Men’s Shirt, £19.99 (available from Dobells)

I also picked out this shirt for LPD – a stylish navy long sleeved shirt as he doesn’t have many dark colours in his shirt collection. I specifically picked this hoping it would go with the bowtie I made for him as his wedding anniversary gift this year, do you think it goes? He’s never worn it as none of his other shirts really pair well with it (silly choice of fabric on my behalf!) but I think the navy matches perfectly. Now just to make Pickle a matching mini bowtie so they can both wear them together. Super cute.

Christmas Jumper Gifts for Men from The British Legion

Poppy Christmas Jumper, £34.99 (Available from the Poppy Shop)

For a Christmas Jumper with a difference, check out this colourful design from the British Legion. Poppies aren’t just for Remembrance Sunday, you know. I had no idea you could buy poppy merchandise all year round and continue supporting our Service personnel, both past and present. You can also add an additional donation when you check out. It’s worth having a browse of their website for other gifts too – there are some lovely homeware bits and pieces.

Axe Throwing Experience at Whistle Punks

Whistle Punks Axe Throwing Experience, prices start at £20 (gift vouchers available)

For the men in your life who seem to have everything (read: my brothers), I came across this really unique activity that I know they won’t have tried before: an Urban Axe-throwing experience! I didn’t even know this was a thing, but it sounds pretty cool. A booking is for a 1.5 hour experience which starts with some tuition before having a tournament to determine who the top axe-thrower is of your party! For anyone who quite likes all things alternatives or fancies themselves as a bit of an action-hero, I think this is a great gift idea. You can buy gift vouchers to pay for an experience, and Whistle Punks have locations in London, Birmingham and Manchester.

Nokia Steel Watch on a man

Nokia Steel activity watch, from £119.95 (available from Nokia, John Lewis, Apple, Amazon or Curry’s)

If you’ve got a bit more budget to play with, I love the look of these Nokia Steel activity watches. LPD always jokes that I only ever buy him gifts that I want for myself, and this definitely falls into that category! I love that we can use technology to encourage us to be more active – whether that’s counting your steps each day, mapping your cycle or running route or even just charting your sleeping patterns. It can even be worn whilst swimming! Compared to other activity trackers available on the market, this stands out because it looks really stylish – you wouldn’t know it was an activity tracker which really appeals to me. There are lots of customisation options available too, including the clock face colour, strap style and colour, and there’s an all black limited edition too.

I’m really pleased that between these gifts, my £5 gifts from Sports Direct and my personalised gifts too, I’ve managed to avoid buying any generic body wash gift sets this year. Fingers crossed my recipients are all pleased with what I’ve picked out for them this year… now, just to get wrapping! With a mince pie and a glass of mulled wine, obviously.
